Sacred is a book series authored by Blake Gillespie, a former sports and culture journalist and writer. Sacred has become his communion with universal messages passed down to him from his family and the communities that nurtured him throughout life. “On Devotion to Spiritual Hoops” is about the intersection of basketball and spirituality. This is not a traditional religious text, unless you believe in the angering of the basketball gods. Sacred is designed to be suggestive and elusive of any singular message or belief. Vol.1 is a collection of personal essays, meditations, mantras, research and stream-of-conscious writing. It is guided but not instructional.

Blake Gillespie has been a professional writer since he was 20 when he began contributing to Impose Magazine, an independent music and culture publication.
